Information Technology SBA Originality Report Instructions

All groups are required to generate an originality report for their SBA submissions for the ICT SBA.

We will be using the tool GPTZero[1]  to produce these originality reports.

Group leaders are required to submit these reports. However, the responsibility is not on the group leader to create the report.

Any member of the group may generate the originality report and provide it to the group leader for submission.

Prepare your Submission for ORiginality Checking.

For the CSEC IT SBA , we will be checking the word processing submission and the program design and implementation submission.  You will create copies of these submissions for upload to GPTZero with any personally identifiable  information removed, i.e. group member names, candidate numbers, addresses, etc. :

Word Processing Instructions:

Mail merge (Part B):
If you attempted the mail merge, you will be uploading a copy of the merged document for originality checking.

Create a copy of the merged document with “-Originality Checking” appended to the filename.

In this example , the original filename is
Group 02-WordProcessing-PartB-Merged.docx , create a copy rename it to
Group 02-WordProcessing-PartB-Merged-Originality Checking.docx

    Automatic Table (Part A) of Contents and Fillable form (Part B):

    Create copies as outlined previously.

    Problem Solving and Program Design

    Create a copy of the report as outlined previously.

    Remove the cover page and any personally identifiable information, and save the changes.

    Generating the Originality Report

    Visit GPTZero (https://gptzero.me/) using your web browser.

    If you have not created an account as yet, please do so using your nc.edu.tt account.

    Login to GPTZero if you have not done so already.

    Upload your first document for checking, e.g. “Group 02-ProblemSolving-Originality Checking.docx

    An example of how to generate the originality report is shown here:

    Use the export option to save the report. Rename the filename to match your original naming convention, e.g. Upload your first document for checking, e.g. “Group 02-ProblemSolving-Originality Report.docx

    Generate reports for all other files that you have prepared for upload and submit them as directed by your teacher.

    IF any report contains 20% or more of AI, you must redo your submission ensuring that it is less than 20%. Communicate any issues to your teacher.
